Most of the rural areas in Sabah have beautiful views because of the geographical authenticity is still maintained until today. The picture below shows the paddy fields in Tambunan.

Most of the houses in rural areas was made of bamboo and nipah leaf.

housing area near the Tambunan town. A kid is seen with "wakid" behind his back. He is on the way to the woods to pick up fruits and vegetables like paku pakis.

Most of the villagers used this kind of method for cooking. They believed that by cooking in this way, the foods will be more delicious along with the aroma smell coming from the fire wood.

They also claimed that by cooking using the traditional method was actually time-consuming because they have to blow the fire wood to heat up the foods faster. Some of the villagers would prefer to use gases rather than this one. This kind of method is mostly used by people that cannot afford to buy gas.

The simple and humble toilet below is very common in the rural areas of Sabah. If you're a hygienic person, you better poops in the river or in the woods.
